How to find UK government contracts that expire soon

You can find UK public sector contracts approaching their end date by reading the contract end date published in the official Contracts Finder OCDS feed, then filtering to those falling inside a forward-looking window. ER Monarch does this automatically and currently tracks 386 live renewals across 31 trade categories, with the incumbent supplier named on every record.

Why the 90 to 180 day window matters most

Bids are usually won three to six months before the existing contract expires, not in the final weeks. By the time a renewal is formally advertised, the incumbent has often already been in discussion with the buyer for months. That makes the 90 to 180 day band the most commercially useful slice of the data.

ER Monarch labels this the Active Bid Runway. It currently holds 122 contracts inside that band, worth a substantial share of the £217.7 million total award value tracked in the wider 18-month window.

What a renewal record contains

Why this is not a lead list

Contract renewal intelligence is not a contact list. It contains no personal data and no harvested email addresses. It answers three questions and nothing more: what is expiring, when, and who currently holds it — which is exactly the information a supplier needs to decide whether a renewal is worth chasing, and to find the buyer through proper channels.

Where the data comes from

The underlying records are official UK public sector information published under the Open Government Licence v3.0 on Contracts Finder. ER Monarch is an independent market intelligence platform built on top of that public data. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official service of the UK Government, Crown Commercial Service or Contracts Finder.

How often the data refreshes

ER Monarch runs a daily pipeline that ingests new award notices from the official feed, re-derives the forward-looking renewal window and republishes the vault. New records are deduplicated against the existing ledger, so the same contract is never listed twice.
